Once I get to this phase, updates will become more frequent and the light at the end of the tunnel is all the more present. For most of my builds, 80% of the build is surface preparation with the repetitive sanding, priming, and filling cycle. As of last night, this is what Kanu looks like:

Since I base coated this with the white base, I need to mask off the eyes before painting the skin tone. For the eyes, I’m using blue sticky tack. The tack is applied to the eyes with a toothpick. And here is the progression.

Once the eyes were masked off, I start off with the darker skin tone. I have two skin tones that I use, and from my build style, I usually spray the darker tone first, then preshade with the lighter skin tone. With Kanu painted in the dark skin tone, she looks like she’s been tanning.
