Fear of the Unknown…

So, about 10 minutes ago, there was, as initial reports come in, a 5.8 earthquake with the epicenter at Chino Hills, California. The low rumble started as I sat at my desk, and I noted to my co-workers that we’re getting a nice little earthquake. Then as it continued, it got significantly stronger and one of my other co workers comes out of his cube to look at me and ask “What’s going on?” I can only laugh and the question. The rumbling continues, this is quite a long earthquake, I think it lasted for a good minute in total. It has been a while since I last felt an earthquake of this size.

July’s Model Build Gathering

It’s 4:45 PM and I’m still trying to recover from yesterday’s build gathering. Early in the morning, I hit up a showing of Dark Knight with Will and Chris, and rushed back with them in tow to the house to find that Travis and company were already here. People showed up fairly promptly this gathering, and I think we hit 18 people before 3PM. The house cleared once Otakufuel showed up, and everyone was outside buying kits. Here are a few pictures of the three sections of build areas we ended up with:

We have a good number of new people this time; I believe we have about 7 or 8 new folks. Hugo watches them intently…

Avenged Sevenfold (A7X)

So I’ve been playing a good amount of RockBand in the past few weeks since I exposed my best friend and his family to the game. And a few weeks ago, I grabbed a couple of Avenged Sevenfold songs for RockBand; Afterlife and Critical Acclaim. My previous exposure to Avenged Sevenfold was from Guitar Hero II with Beast and the Harlot. Since downloading the songs a little over a month ago, I haven’t really played them until recently. A7X is an amazing friggin band. Below is a youtube video that is the official music video their song A little piece of heaven:
