1/7 Hustler and Casting

This is a 1/7 Hustler kit from Orchid Seed that came out in limited production numbers at the end of last year’s HobbyComplex. I had the kit pinned at the last build gathering. I have yet to take pictures of the magnets, but I have magnets embedded into the edge of the pool table where she sits and a corresponding magnet in her butt. The kit is broken down very nicely, and it should be fairly easy to build and paint. The vest is broken down along a natural seam. The kit also comes with optional parts for building her with an open or closed shirt. Now this is where the casting comes into play. To take advantage of how well the kit breaks down, I’m planning on building three versions of the shirt, closed, half open, and fully opened. And for this, I need to make casts of the collar and extra shirt pieces.

Weekend Update

The weekend was fairly low key. Some friends came over to hang out on Friday and Saturday. I went out and picked up a pressure pot to help my mold making and resin casting. The pressure pot will help squeeze out air bubbles in the mold and resin and hopefully result with the molds and resin casts parts in higher quality. I was originally planning on hitting up the slow dive boat out to Catalina, but I used that money on the pressure pot and other things. Additionally, the boat dive to Catalina pretty much takes up the entire day from 5 in the morning until about 6; I had other things that I needed to do on Sunday. So a nice morning dive took care of the itch to swim with the fishes. Hugo and Beanie tagged along to the beach.

ARRRRR, Thay Be Driving Me Nuts…

So last night, my mom and some of her younger co workers had tickets for the Pirate Dinner Adventure, which is basically Medieval Times but with pirates instead of knights, and a big ship stage surrounded by a moat instead of a dirt arena and horses. Oh, and there’s singing, so it’s basically Pirates of the Caribbean the Musical…. I have been to Medieval Times, and I have been to a few Broadway Musicals; I think a better time could be had at the local Renaissance Faire as you get to see jousting, and probably your fair share of folks running around in pirate garb – and all this with minimal Musical interference.

Your favorite UC girls….

Just throwing this out there to see what people think. You can chose up to 10 from the list. Personally, I like Cima, Haman, and Katejina, cause you know what they say about crazy chicks. Four and Christina are also up there. I put Minerva, and I will leave it to your own digression of if you want the Zeta version or the Unicorn version of Minerva…
