Scuba: diving before work

Diving before work. Taking advantage of the great conditions, I ended up going Friday morning. There were several divers out there when I arrived. There were three divers suiting up when I parked and started getting ready. I entered the water just before they did. I snapped a few pictures of them while I kicked out to the drop zone.

The Tenderloin Experiment part 1 and 2

Tenderloin part 1: Filet Mignon. So after watching an episode of Alton Brown’s Good Eats; I decided that I needed to try getting a bulk cut of tenderloin, cut up, and use the different meat cuts for various uses. And what better guinea pigs to test this out on than a few of my friends. Yesterday, I cut some fillet Mignon steaks and did a steak au poivre dish. Today, I took a different cut of the meat and made Philly Cheesesteaks.

Midweek Diving and Velvet arrives!

Velvet from Odin Sphere sculpted by Bubba arrived on Tuesday, but since I wasn’t home to sign for the kit, I was relegated to picking it up the following morning. The box for the kit was unusually large as you can see by the comparison picture with Mr G3 Gundam. However, as excited I was to go home and break open the box to get her at least pinned, something else caught my attention towards the end of my work day.

As usual, I was checking the local scuba conditions as I randomly do to see what conditions are like; and the reported waves were 0-1 ft, surge light, and visibility 20-25 ft. My last couple of dives have been with a visibility of 10-15 ft and 2-4 ft surge. I then went to check another surf site for the deep water wave action to see what the conditions may be come the weekend. The deep water waves are predicted to raise as the week progressed, so I figured I should take advantage of the current conditions and just do a nice evening dive.

Workshop reorganization step one…

While taking pictures of the pressure pot yesterday, I realize that I need to better organize the workshop so that the space is better utilized. I have a full table in the corner that is only used as self space. That whole area has become utterly cluttered with boxes and parts of unfinished kits.

At the model build gathering, some new folks were join and they were figure enthusiasts and took an interests in some of the kits I had. And after pulling a good number of them out, I’m coming to the realization that my build speed has slowed down considerably and that I will probably never get around to completing all these bloody kits…

So time to sell of some of these kits. Now getting rid of some kits as well as the countless boxes of junk will help facilitate the eventual room reorganization. The following list will be updated as things are sold. I will be adding more items as I rummage through the junk that has collected over the years.
