Sunday saw a boat trip out to Catalina Island. We did a total of three dives, the first dropped us to about 70 ft, and we dived for about 30 minutes. The second was spent mostly between 20-25 feet or lower and the dive ended up lasting 53 minutes – so far the longest dive we’ve done on our rented 80 cu ft tanks. The last dive saw a bunch of lobsters hiding in the rocks and lasted about 45 minutes.

The visibility was incredible at about 40ft. There were fish everywhere. I saw a nudibranch but it had slipped away before I could snap a picture. The girlfriend pointed out the Horn Shark just sitting there. I also snapped a picture of a sea star that was no more than 5cm in diameter. The kelp and plant life was simply beautiful. It was a very good trip.
