OMG Back to Model Building

It has been more than 2 full months since I last posted any sort of progress on projects I’m currently working on. With coming back from Otakon, and seeing how inspired my friend Brian is on his fairly new interest in model building; the feelings come back and I found myself sitting down at my work bench, sanding pad in one hand, and parts of Kanu in the other. Being on Skype with Brian is certainly helping the motivation as well. Via the webcam, I just got itching with watching him sit there and build. I put up my webcam on my work bench light and started filling and sanding. The below pictures were done in early July for my presentation at Anime Expo, but I hadn’t had the chance to make an update.

Kanu (関羽雲長) Primed

Now that I’ve gotten to a comfortable point with my HGUC Nus, I’m now in full concentration on Kanu. From last night, I was able to get the initial priming session done. I will explain the reason behind the term “initial priming” after the jump. I did a quick fit after the priming so that I can take a few snaps of her together:

1/6 Kanu Uncho (関羽雲長) Progress

Started this project this weekend. This is a 1/6 scale Kanu sculpted by 中山栄治 which is a sculpt based on the same picture that Bome used for their 1/4 scale Kanu. The remaining Nu is waiting for some demos this weekend and will be finished once I get the demos for the build gathering. So time to start work on updating and creating videos for the figure building tutorials. The interesting thing about this kit is that is came with a sheet of water slide decals for the robe.
