Kanu Progress

Weekend update. This weekend saw a good amount of work done on Kanu. Friday was spent sanding, Saturday I re-primed the sanded pieces, then Sunday saw some actual paint work. The red parts got the base coat of Finisher’s Silk Red. The upper piece of the dress still had a good amount of surface defects that I filled using light curing putty on Friday. The part was primed on Saturday, and the base coat was sprayed on Sunday.

New Kits from WonFes 2008 Summer

Two kits that I picked up off Y!J auctions arrived Saturday morning. I had just finished re-priming the Kanu kit so having these two kits arrive is just perfect timing. Pulling them out, I get to cutting flash and pinning. The first kit is Asuka Langley from Evangelion cosplaying as Yoko Ritona from Gurren Lagann sculpted by Cherry Blossom. She’s a smaller kit, Cherry Blossom advertises her as 1/7, but seems closer to 1/8 in my eyes. The guide holes placed there by the sculptors greatly help and speed the process of pinning. Here are pictures of the process:

Tekkaman Evil Commission

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by a local in regards to potential commission work. I gave the guy a quote but also stipulated that I do build gatherings at my house and that he was welcome to come over and learn. He showed up at my place on the build gathering and brings out the kits he’s interested in having me build. They are old Tekkaman kits from the anime Tekkaman Blade. The kits were produced around 1992 and are now out of production.
