MS-08TX Efreet Custom Completed

So just shy of 3 weeks, this little quick and dirty project is done. I pulled some pictures from the previous posts showing the major miles stones starting with the simple snap fit, painted, flat coated, then weathered. It feels good to get a project done after so much time away from building. I normally try to document as much of the progress as possible so that others can learn, but sometime when I’m in the zone for building, I invariably forget about snapping a picture at certain moments, so if things are missed, or lost in translation, it should be fairly easy to assume from on progress picture to another. I’ve started to get better at writing the exact colors and brands I’m using. I find that sometimes, months or years goes by and I get a question on what color/brand I used for some kit and I have no idea, and go back to look at the progress page for that particular kit to see if it was written there or if it jogs my memory.

But enough of the babbling, the progress and some final pictures after the jump.

Morrigan and a SCGMC Raffle Prize

A little under a month ago, I started working on a Morrigan figure sculpted by JYOJYO (also known as OOXOO). Of all the Morrigan figures I’ve seen, this is definitely my favorite and what I believe the best looking and best proportioned. The Morrigan pretty much started as I was finishing the Midnight Zaku. Additionally, about a week ago, I started work on my part for the SCGMC raffle prize. More information about both kits following the jump.

Midnight Zaku 97% Completion…

I’ve been working on the kit daily since the previous update. Progression slows down quite a bit towards the end of the builds are allowance for things to cure is always a good thing. I also didn’t take many pictures of the actual kit’s progression as most of the time was spent dealing with clear coats, decals, and more masking. I did however take step by step processes for the display base. The title says 97% since I’m still painting the last bit to the kit, the Heat Hawk, so it will be another couple of days, and at the time of this posting, I’ve also cut about an inch off of the acrylic rod to shorten the distance between the kit and the base.

The Bowl, Colorado, and a Zaku

Been a while, figured I’d wait until I had some gunpla to post. I’ve been sucked into the world of MSG Battle Operation. And in between sessions of Feddy and Zeon bashing, I’ve managed to hit up the Hollywood Bowl twice, go to Vegas, go to Colorado for work, help a friend with mold making and resin casting, and actually got some paint thrown onto an MG Zaku Mine Layer. And it is at this opportune moment that I realize, I didn’t take any pictures in Vegas. I took the camera with me with the original intent to hike the Ice Box trail in Red Rock, but the heat and a night of drinking and gambling killed all possibilities of that happening.
